Want Total Freedom and No Responsibility? Be a Democrat!

Apparently, being a Democrat makes you immune to the Beer Bug. Who knew?

This immunity doesn’t seem to discriminate between the lefty-fascist “progressive” kind, the “conservative” or “libertarian” kind or the Republican-wannabe Establishment kind.

The DNC’s nominee for First Crook, Creepy Joe, is a prime example of the last kind.

From Kamala Harris’ Twitter feed — 8:20 AM ⋅ August 17, 2020

In that picture, it’s plainly obvious that this is a gathering of more than five [5] people, and that they do not appear to be practicing any “social distancing” protocols.

As the TV pitchmen say, “But wait, there’s more!

In this second picture, it’s plain to see that not only are they not “social distancing,” but they aren’t wearing the idiotic masks that they insist that the rest of us wear any time that we step outside of our homes.

It seems like Eric July called it last month when he [sarcastically] said in a video clip that “the virus is woke” and able to tell what your politics are, and only infect those who aren’t lefty fascist types of the sort that are working for the DNC, its affiliates and candidates.

After all, when you’re a lefty fascist whackjob, you can get away with just about anything, as Larry Correia writes:

When a lone nut job maniac goes on a mass shooting, he represents all gun owners (even if his manifesto is all pro gun control). Even if he’s a raving left winger or has no coherent philosophy at all, he represents all republicans/Christians/white men/whatever group the left has a hate boner for this week. And the existence of this lone nut maniac irreparably taints half the population of America with guilt, even if they have nothing in common with him at all.

However, if somebody wearing a hoody and a ski mask, looting, burning shit, while chanting fuck the police and flying the hammer and sickle, gets caught on video beating someone with a baseball bat… HOW DARE YOU ASSUME THEY ARE ANTIFA?!? HE DOES NOT HAVE AN ANTIFA NAME TAG ON! WHERE IS HIS ANTIFA ID CARD? HOW DARE YOU SMEAR THESE INNOCENT MOSTLY PEACEFUL PEOPLE WITH THE ACTIONS OF A FEW BAD APPLES?!?

This may sound crazy, but just remember. If you are on the right you share collective guilt for every bad thing which has ever happened, even if it was done by people on the left. And if you are on the left, you are free from sin because you Care Harder.

On the individual level, if you are on the right, you are responsible for things that other people’s ancestors did 200 years ago. But if you are on the left, you aren’t responsible for what you are doing right now.

Also see this video clip, where the guy holding the gun on the woman in the car says (no way that I could have made this up) —

“I am not a cop, I will fucking shoot you. I’m a Democrat. I can shoot you because Democrats get away with everything.”

A Question for Judge Malott (Letter to the Editor)

Filed under: Media, Philosophy, Politics, Principles — Tags: , , , , , , , — mikewb1971 @ 5:03 PM

From: Mike Blessing
To: Editorial Page Editor, Albuquerque Journal
Date: Friday, 3 April 2015
Subject: A Question for Judge Malott

In today’s op-ed piece about discrimination, Judge Malott states that as the trial judge in Elane Photography v. Willock[1], he ruled that it’s illegal for people to discriminate against others on the basis of sexual orientation, and that Elaine Hugenin was wrong to refuse service to Vanessa Willock on that basis.

This begs the question of why it was so important for Willock to force herself upon Hugenin, but I digress.

The question then for Judge Malott is this: is it against the law for a gay-owned business to refuse service to straight people simply because they’re straight?

If the answer is “yes,” then the Judge is saying that people should be forced to associate with others that they would prefer not to, and freedom of association goes down the toilet.

If “no,” then the judge is saying that politically-protected segments of society get to lord it over to those deemed unworthy of such protection, and the question isn’t about the offending conduct, but “who” does to “whom.”

I’m having trouble deciding which answer to this is worse. In the end, I’d prefer that individuals be free to associate with others of their own choice, period.

To the LGBT folks — If you want someone to take pictures or video of or bake a cake for your commitment ceremony, why would you force yourself upon those who don’t want your business when some of their competitors will happily do business with you?

Patti Bushee and Pat Davis Hinder, Not Help, the LGBT Cause

Santa Fe City Councilor Patti Bushee and ProgressNow New Mexico’s Executive Director Pat Davis will tell you that they are all in favor of expanding the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people. In reality, they are ultimately hindering the LGBT cause, as opposed to helping it.

“How so?” you might ask. After all, both of them have been rather outspoken in support of same-sex marriage.

In today’s Albuquerque Journal, Bushee was quoted as “urging county clerks to start issuing same-sex marriage licenses.”[1]

And ProgressNow New Mexico joined in yesterday with an email blast and Facebook posting.[2]

Now remember that in 2005, Democrat Attorney General Patsy Madrid filed litigation against same-sex marriage licenses issued by Victoria Dunlap. Those with good memories for the political scene will note that Dunlap was the Republican County Clerk in Sandoval County at the time. After Dunlap left office, Patsy dropped the lawsuit she filed against Dunlap’s actions.

The lesson to be learned from this is the Democrats will treat people of the LGBT persuasion as a political soccer ball, to be kicked around at a whim. Why shouldn’t they, as LGBT people will vote overwhelmingly for the Democrat regardless of what Democrats do between elections?

And it should also be noted that both Bushee and Davis regard the rights of others not in their political circle as soccer balls, to be kicked around at their leisure. If not as flies to be swatted.

On the latter, I’m referring to one issue in particular, specifically the individual right of private civilians to own and carry weapons, for the purpose of self-defense.

On 20 December 2012, Bushee said that she would sponsor a ban on civilian possession of “assault weapons” – military-pattern semiautomatic rifles – within the city limits of Santa Fe[3]. Warbling in tune with Bushee, ProgressNow NM has kept up a steady flow of strident, hoplophobic catcalls on behalf of the victim disarmament cause[4].

Consider that since it was founded in 1971, the Libertarian Party has supported the rights of LGBT people to live their lives free from coercion just the same as we libertarians support the rights of conservatives to live free from coercion.

How many conservative-type people in New Mexico really care per se about LGBT people being of the LGBT persuasion? Probably not many. So when I bring up to them the idea that LGBT should be just as free as they are to live without coercion, my case is undermined by Davis, Bushee and their ilk clamoring to infringe upon other, equally-cherished rights. “Why should I care about their rights when they don’t care about mine?” goes the question.

In short, if Bushee and Davis want their cherished freedom to be LGBT to be upheld, it would behoove them to respect the rights of others to own and carry weapons, among other rights.

Feinstein DOES Want to Ban All Guns

How many times have we, the advocates of the right to own and carry weapons, heard this from the hoplohpobes and victim-disarming hypocrites:

“We don’t want to ban all guns. All we want are some reasonable controls on guns.”

We’ve been hearing it quite often from all corners of the victim-disarmament crowd – mostly from the useful idiots who carry water for this evil, stupid brand of insanity (“I don’t like guns, therefore no else should have any”), but also from their legislative buddies, the same buddies who often have armed bodyguards in close proximity.

Below is a clip taken from an interview that Senator Dianne Feinstein gave to CBS’ 60 Minutes in 1995. In this clip, the Senator stated that her intention with the 1994 Clinton-era “assault weapon” ban was to require everyone to turn them all in to the federal government:

Feinstein is one of the hypocrites in that she’s had a concealed-weapons permit herself, as well as armed bodyguards from the California Highway Patrol (remember the TV series CHiPs?) assigned to her personally.

What I would like to know is when she’s going to have those CHP officers assigned to her protection detail report to Sacramento for other duties? When is she going to surrender her concealed-weapon permit?

After all, if she were honest and had any integrity, she wouldn’t have any problem rendering herself as defenseless as she wants to render everyone else.

Republicans as Nazis?

How many times have the “progressive” “opponents” of President George Bush XLIII compared him to Hitler, and his Administration to the Third Reich?

It does get tiring after a while, but they unwittingly DO have a point.

What George W. and the GOP have done in between 21 January 2001 and 2 January 2007 is EXACTLY what the Austrian corporal turned Reichschancellor did between 1929 and 1945 — he took a pile of “left-wing” socialist economic policies and painted over them with flag-waving nationalism and racial and religious bigotry.

Well, the “Main Street” wing of the GOP, embodied by their 2008 Presidential candidate, John McCain[1] DID help George W. create the first round of corporate-welfare bailouts just before that election. There’s your “left-wing” economics, along with Medicare Part D, the resurrection of farm subsidies[2], among other things.

What about the flag-waving and bigotry, you might ask?

Well, what about the comments from self-styled “conservatives” about how “the Muslims will come here and force their ways upon us” ? Is that really true of all Muslims? Probably not for more than a very few.

Then, to compound the cover-up of the GOP’s “left-wing” economics, there’s the ongoing demonization of Mexican immigrants — “they’re stealing our jobs!” and such.

Of course, it should be fun to watch as the “progressives” either squirm to excuse Obama’s backpedaling from campaign promises, or they desert from his Ruling Coalition the Democratic Party.

NOTES

  1. I can’t remember all of the times I’ve referred to McCain as “McClown” or “the Manchurian Senator” over at New Mexico Liberty
  2. Phased out by Waco Willie of all people with the  Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996, while George W. signed the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, where Republicans opposed subsidy caps.

“Fair” is a Four-Letter Word

For about 200 years now, liberals [1], free-marketers, libertarians ands capitalists [2] have been pilloried by statists and collectivists for supporting the removal of state controls over the market, as markets are “inherently unfair” without regulatory and taxation schemes sanctioned by those same statists and collectivists.

What I’d to know from the advocates of government control over the market is this —

What is your definition of the word “fair” ?

After all, statists and collectivists, both on the “left” and the “right”, from Barack Obama and Ralph Nader to John McCain and George Bush, use the word on a regular basis, as though it has a commonly-understood, objective meaning, like the equation 2 + 2 = 4 in mathematics. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth — “fair” is a word loaded with emotional content and is defined subjectively — Obama and Nader will more than likely offer up definitions markedly different from those of McCain and Bush, while libertarians such as Ron Paul will differ from all four of them.

So what’s “fair” ?

What probably applies from the Wikitionary page for “fair” is definition two —
    3. Just, equitable. — He must be given a fair trial.

The Wikipedia page for “fair takes us to a disambiguation page, where we find disambiguation page for “fairness”.
    Distributive justice
    Equity
    Absence of bias

So what’s “just” and equitable” ? Again, these words are subjectively defined, depending on one’s worldview. As such, I’m extremely reluctant to use it when putting together any sort of policy proposal. I shudder to think of what the incoming Obama Administration will do by using the word.

To get as far as he did in the morass that is Chicago politics, Obama had to at least pay lip service to the idea of economic equality — that “it’s not fair” that one person makes more money than any other. Will The Barack really tax the Kennedy clan, the Kerrys, and the big-money donors that contributed to his campaign at a rate of 100 percent, and start passing out the proceeds to gas-station attendants?

It’s obvious to anyone with a working gray matter cell that he’s NOT going to do this, yet his supporters still seem to think that the idea will actually be implemented.

If “it’s not fair” for one person to have more cash on hand than any other, as the Obamaniacs seem to think, then why aren’t they calling for legislation to wipe out the Kennedy clan’s tax loopholes.

It’s funny that Ted Kennedy calls the accumulated wealth of someone like Bill Gates “unfair,” yet never seems to get around to donating his share of the family fortune in support of the people he professes to care about when he’s on the campaign trail.

NOTES

  1. I’m referring to classical liberals here, such as Benjamin Franklin and Frederic Bastiat, not the Rooseveltian fascists who hijacked the word in the 1930’s.
  2. I’m referring to Randian capitalists here, more properly called “free-marketers” here, not the favor-seeking plutocrats excoriated by Bastiat and Marx.
